Step 1: Reflect on your Achievements

If you’re looking for a bit of inspiration to get you started, this is a great place to start. As a course creator, your wins are like gold. They tell you that you are headed down the right path and that what you are doing is working! Take a moment to look back over the past year and write down all your wins. What offers performed well? What wins did your members achieve? Celebrate and keep the moment going by continuing to incorporate it in your success this year.

Step 2: Polish Up Your Website

Your website is one of your greatest assets to your business. Keeping it updated and inviting is an essential step in marketing your business online (not to mention increasing organic traffic). Give your website a quick update. Refresh your homepage, tidy up your about page and make sure everything is looking good and in working order. Also, take a look at your traffic over the year and see where your visitors spend most of their time and how you can encourage them to follow the journey you laid out for them.

Step 3: Declutter Your Content

Sometimes things get a little messy like that junk draw in everyone’s kitchen. Your content is no different. Clean up your course by archiving old content, update lessons, and make sure everything is organized for a seamless learning experience. Remember, your members are on a path to reaching their goal and you want to make it as easy for them as possible to get there.

Step 4: Check Your Tech

The online world is riddled with tech that can sometimes not work when when you want it to. That is why we include a Tech Health Check in our monthly maintenance (to learn more click here) Ensuring that all your tech tools and integrations are working smoothly is a must. Test your funnel systems by doing test payments, review your email automations, and ensure everything is well-integrated. This ensures there are no hiccups when turning your leads into paying clients.

Step 5: Set Your Goals

Goal setting is a great way to measure the success of your business. Now that you have another year under your belt, you have something that is a true game-changer; data. Use this to your advantage. Ask yourself:

  • What financial goal do you want to reach this year?

  • How many new subscribers do you want to add to your email list?

  • Are there any new courses or modules you can add to help your audience?

  • What events or challenges can you organize to engage your audience?

  • What specific achievements do you want to see in your course?

Use what you have learned about your business over this past year (what has worked and what hasn’t) to create clear and measurable goals.

Step 6: Engage Your Audience

Your community matters. Whether you have a private community or have followers on Instagram, Facebook or YouTube; they stay connected to you for a reason. So, plan some events, engage in conversation, and build a deeper connection. Find out what they want to see from you this year. Giving them what they want or need helps them see that you care and are putting them first. Find new ways to bring your community together.

Step 7: Upgrade Your Social Game

Social media is a must have for any business and as course creators it is a major part of marketing. Even with very little followers, you can captivate your audience with how you show up and what you share.

Social media is all about sharing and being social. So share insights, showcase your wins from the past year, share your workspace, and interact with your community. The more engaged you are, the more vibrant your community becomes.

Did you know that most of your followers don’t even see all your posts? If you have content that have performed well or even brought sells into your business, repurpose that content so it can reach new people.

Step 8: Invest In Yourself

As the CEO of your thriving empire, investing in your professional development is a must. While you not only stay updated on the latest trends in your industry, you also have an opportunity to network and connect with influencers and even new clients. so, step out and attend workshops, aquire new skills to bring back to your course business and stay ahead in your field. Personal growth reflects in the growth of your course. Allow your members and followers see that growth.

With a new year comes endless possibilities. Whether you knocked your goals out of the park last year old struggled to stay afloat; you have the information you need to make this year the biggest year yet in your course business.
